Not really. The final texture is comparable in roughness to new commercial climbing holds. The diamonds just stay sharp for longer. Anyway, you shouldn't be dry firing off hangboards regularly enough to cause skin damage.

Yes, for hard training sessions it's best to use chalk. But the advantage of the diamond texture plate is that it's approximately equivalent to slicker boards without chalk - so you can sneak in little sessions anywhere! On the couch watching TV, or in the office are some of our favourite places to edge.

All reference images are from real, pre-production samples. We have made teeny tiny tweaks (about 1.2mm) to a few features to make it stronger and manufacturing easier, but the product you receive will be 99% the same and essentially indistinguishable. No changes to functionality or the diamond texture plate.
